Living Room

Lewis & Lou

LEWIS AND LOU Sometimes you just need a little change. This coffee table was an expensive purchase many years back.  It is large, solid and has 3 drawers that pull though either side.  Though it is a little battered it is unique and it is the perfect coffee table for our living room.  The wood makes a nice addition to the otherwise monochrome palette, I can hide the ugly clutter inside the drawers and its large enough to display lots of

The icing on the cake

Lucky for me, my office is located just above a kitchen company which means I am privy to all the insider info, it also meant I was lucky enough to sneak in a quick refresh for my kitchen right at their busiest time – just before Christmas. While most companies will encourage you to replace your whole kitchen others will give you good advice on a revamp or refresh keeping the costs down while still improving value and functionality, so

New Year New Look

My style is one of those that is hard to define exactly, I love the calm of Nordic design, but alone I find it a little boring so add in a wee bit of Vintage and a touch of Mid Century with a little bit of Quirkiness and a touch of Organic Modern and there you have it.  My little house.  Does this make it an eclectic space?  In a way yes; bringing different theories together to compliment each

Mezzanine Makeover

Our mezzanine is a small space in the centre of our second floor, it over looks our living area and is flanked by two bedrooms along with a small bathroom. It is currently filled with some unwanted and unloved furniture; but with its all day sun it is honestly one of my most favourite spots in the house, and not just mine; Westie the cat rarely moves from the general vicinity. So, find the images that inspire you and work around them. You wont find the exact item you want but you can come pretty darn close. Watch and learn… Not long ago I was presented with this image… There were a few more stipulations; “Show off some

The Other Floor… part 2

So I’m not one that promotes painting over beautiful timber willy nilly but sometimes you just need a refresh; in our case the timber wasn’t exactly beautiful and we wanted a lighter and airy sense of space so away we went. Now its no easy task and not for the DIYers in you either, I mean we are talking some heavy duty sanding, priming and filling.  We didn’t want to see the knots and imperfections so we called in

Coffee table LOVE

COFFEE TABLE LOVE I love a flat empty surface, it gets my fingers itching to add some beautiful items and with so many requests to help with ideas for coffee table styling I thought it was time I shared a few secrets with you… Lets start with the table itself; now Ive had quite a few coffee tables in my time but I have to say I think Ive found my all time favourite… why?  Because its so simple, so

Pillow Talk

PILLOW TALK If you know me you will likely know there are 3 things I cannot resist easily; puppies, chairs and cushions.  I have a problem with saying no to all three; puppies, however are generally not really something one can have too many off and nor, as I have learnt, do they stay puppies for all that long; chairs are something that one can actually have too many of and in fact I am bordering on this calamity
