PANTRY MAKEOVER

PANTRY MAKEOVER

Is it just me or are the Lockdown days going super fast? I don’t mean the days in numbers, more that the days seem to speed by with very little achieved. I wonder how, I squeezed in an 8-9 hour work day as well as maintaining a social life and managing my home all by myself.

I also feel quite exhausted these days even though I seem to be sleeping 9-10 hours per night. Maybe its my body slowing down to catch up… making use of this time to repair and rejuvenate for our new future; for staying healthy and staying sane.

I have found that its somewhat necessary to write a list of ‘Lockdown Jobs’ to keep motivated and make the most of this time that has been given to us. As I am staying at my #Bubble Partners house in the country I have been helping him out; I spent an entire day just sorting out and cleaning his kitchen.

My own kitchen got some love over the Christmas holidays when I spent some time sorting out my pantry… I’ve always been a Tupperware girl but I’ve grown tired of the same old and branched out to something new and modern… I wanted glass but couldn’t find the right sizes so I went for the Riley Canisters (currently on sale) from Freedom Furniture in three different sizes. They are BPA Plastic Free and Hermatically Sealed.

What I found in my pantry were a lot of unused items and though I like to cook I probably want to simplify my life in all ways – food included, I don’t need flour of every variety, I certainly don’t need sugar of every variety and nor do I need every type of pasta known to man. Take a look at Annabel Langbeins list of Pantry Staples

I need order, I need calm and I need to purchase as few containers as possible to create this order and calm!

Its amazing how little you actually need to still create beautiful food.
