Annise Designs – Scented Soy Candles

THE COTTAGE AND THE CANDLE MAKER

Once upon a time there was a little house in the Hawkes Bay called Kingfisher Cottage, home to Rebekah Burton, her family and her business, Annise Designs.

Its story book quality just begs for something equally romantic to be made here and I will not disappoint you.  The business is hand poured, scented, soy candles, made right in the heart of that little cottage; the kitchen.  If anything could depict hygge and slow living this is it.  The gardens are not only picturesque, they are full of produce and, though the renovation is a work in progress, I think Rebekah has nailed the aesthetic, not only with her home, but with her company.  I can imagine the fragrance of Mandarin and Mimosa, Rose, and Vintage Gardenia filling that little cottage from dawn to dusk, as she potters about in the gardens, plays with the children, or works.

Rebekah began making candles for family and friends as a hobby, but due to the popularity she started Annise Designs in 2014; named after hers, and her daughters middle name, and hasn’t looked back.

My little house is lucky to be burning the Apothecary Votive Candle of Mandarin and Mimosa as I type and I am hooked! Though, I am looking forward to the Blackberry Raspberry Vanilla and Coconut and Lime, when I next entertain as they sound deliciously summery and fun!

There is something about afternoon tea and flowers.  They just go together and this white veluto candle just begs me to light it matching the scent to the blooms.

The rounded edges of the apothecary glass vessel blends subtly into any decor.

I love burning citrus scents while I cook and this little candle tin makes for easy use in the kitchen.

Candles need a little attention to get the best out of them so Rebekah includes a Candle Care Guide with every order.  Take a look over at the website to see the entire range and keep up to date with facebook and Instagram.
