Serial Renovators

Its official I have admitted it … we are serial renovators!

And so, here we are three weeks out from Christmas and we have tiles and carpet coming up and new flooring going down, but let me tell you, it doesn’t stop there.  In the land of renovations one thing leads to another to another to another, so in order for our new floors to go down the skirtings must come off and new ones need to go on, the scullery needs a new set of cupboards and the washing machine needs to relocate, so again, plumbers, builders, cabinet makers and painters are due to come and go just because we decided we needed new floors!

But, these floors; Oak wide planks in the entry, kitchen, scullery, dining and living room and Feltex Okiwi Bay carpet in Stone throughout the rest of the house.

I had my heart set on white oak but alas common sense has prevailed and we are going for Oak Villa which is going to mean less cleaning and because natural timber is timeless when its time for us to move on it should appeal to a wider audience… sadly sometimes I have to listen to the sensibilities of ‘he who likes to save money’.

Heres a little sample board…

Most of the house is painted in Resene Black White, the formal living room and master bedroom are painted in Resene White Pointer.

I will post some before and after photos; after! x
