Your little story

YOUR LITTLE STORY

A recent visitor to my little house seemed distracted during our conversation, she apologised and said “…its just that there’s so many interesting things to look at in your house”.

Those little vignettes are what tells your story.

A simple piece of furniture is transformed when topped with some beautiful objects and the collation of those objects is your stories plot.

So grab a surface and some bits and pieces you love and see how your story ends.

I’ve used a simple Jimmy Stand from Mocka, these now come in a variety of sizes and are lightweight and simple enough not to detract from the styling.

Remember the rules of vignettes; anchor the vignette with a larger item, vary heights of the items, group items in odd numbers, contain some items on a surface atop the actual surface, use foliage and or plants, mix up textures, have a common theme, such as colour and your story will be cohesive and interesting enough to distract your guests too.

I am hoping to add a string shelving system to my living room which has a similar aesthetic with its lightweight wire and wood design.  I will share some photos as soon as I can.

Jimmy Stand from Mocka;  Le sac en papier from For Keeps; Vase from Kmart; Leather Strap from Lewis and Lou; Large Zinc Planter from Harley & Co; G print from Popmotif; Small planter from Mint Six; Cage Light from Old School Inc; Book from Book Depository.  Some of these items were purchased some time ago and may not be available now.
